The 60F is arguably South Africa's most common SMB FortiGate — the default choice for a generation of small-business networks. That popularity means a steady stream of 60F licences expiring every month, and a renewal is almost always dramatically cheaper than replacing the appliance.
The FortiGate 60F renews onto any of the four standard Fortinet bundles, each over a 12, 24 or 36-month term. Every bundle includes FortiCare Premium support and FortiOS firmware access; the security layers stack from there. Part numbers follow Fortinet's FC-10-… licence format — we confirm the exact SKU for your appliance on the quote.
| Bundle | What it keeps active | 12 mo | 24 mo | 36 mo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FortiCare | Support, advanced hardware replacement, firmware access | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| ATP Bundle | FortiCare + IPS, anti-malware, application control, FortiSandbox Cloud | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| UTP Bundle (most popular) | ATP + web/DNS/video filtering, antispam, IoT detection | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Enterprise | UTP + OT/industrial security and attack-surface management | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
Not sure which layer you actually use? Our ATP vs UTP vs Enterprise guide breaks it down honestly — including when the cheaper bundle is genuinely enough.
FortiGate 60F and 61F, plus FortiWiFi 60F and 61F (serials starting FGT60F, FGT61F, FWF60F or FWF61F). Renewals for small and medium businesses across South Africa. If your serial starts with something else, don't worry — enter it in the wizard and we'll verify the model against FortiCare automatically.
If the licence has already lapsed, the 60F keeps passing traffic but stops receiving FortiGuard updates — and newer FortiOS releases block firmware upgrades without active FortiCare. Renewals are back-dated to the expiry date under Fortinet's continuous-service rule. Full details: what happens when a FortiGate licence expires.
Licensing is identical — the 61F simply adds onboard storage for local logging. Both use the same bundle options and terms; only the part numbers differ, which your quote handles.
It depends on the bundle (FortiCare, ATP, UTP or Enterprise) and the term. Multi-year terms work out cheaper per year. We quote in rand, VAT included, usually within business hours.
If the 60F still meets your throughput needs, renewing is far more cost-effective than new hardware plus a new licence. If you're outgrowing it, ask for advice with your quote — we'll say honestly if an upgrade makes more sense.
Serial in — verified rand quote out. Expired licences welcome.
